This project provides the second stage of an extensive masterplan for the Sacred Heart site. The design of this project stage conforms to Complying Development requirements to minimise approval timeframes. The site is small and constrained, and the project required demolition of a portion of the existing school to site new facilities. These include administration, the school hall and COLA.
The new building provides connection to an existing church retained on the site and creates a legible school entry point incorporating a forecourt area visible from Bunnerong Road. The works constructed within an operating school required careful sub-staging to maintain egress paths and functionality of school during the construction period.
