Holy Innocents Catholic Primary School, Croydon is the result of a desire to grow the school and address planning and functionality issues while simultaneously improving the school’s image and bringing it into the 21st century. The project was designed with future use and expansion in mind, a focus on creating a street presence and creating flexible learning areas that meet current and future requirements.
The refurbishment of Block A & B at Holy Innocents involved two small landscape components. The first was associated with the relocation of the school reception, a new entry awning with associated access ramps, stairs and gardens.
The second was associated with the refurbishment of the classroom blocks. The classrooms were refurbished to meet contemporary learning environments, which included outdoor connections, OHD assisted in creating level platforms and seating breakouts from the classrooms utilising similar materials to suit the QOH finishes scheme. A series of raised vegetable gardens completed the space and outdoor learning opportunities.
