The first stage of works for Eileen O’Connor Catholic College, Lewisham, was the refurbishment and extension of an existing three storey building to provide flexible learning spaces, additional amenities and an accessibility upgrade to accommodate the College’s increased enrolments.
The scope of works included the refurbishment of classrooms, administration, offices, the college sick bay, multipurpose spaces, verandah and staff room. The enclosed verandah extension connected through an internal courtyard to the existing high school buildings. This enclosed verandah extension includes numerous breakout learning spaces which can be used as both formal and informal learning environments which overview landscaped areas.
The refurbished areas were further enhanced with a supplementary stage that included the expansion of the high school with additional learning spaces and specialty areas. The scope of this secondary stage included an additional four classrooms, a life/living skills room, amenities upgrade and resource centre.
