The first stage in an extensive site Master Plan, the proposed TAS Centre at Edmund Rice College West Wollongong includes the construction of a two storey TAS & STEM Building, with metalwork and woodwork facilities on the ground floor, and theory rooms, multi-media room and a robotics lab on the first floor.
The proposed TAS Centre supports the College by providing specialist learning spaces in a centralised location, aiming to improve the offering of the Technology and Sciences faculty. The building provides a point of difference for the college and demonstrates their strength in providing Technology and Applied Science subjects.
The proposed external spaces and landscaping around the new TAS building provide a safe and equitable circulation loop from the main campus to the existing visual arts facilities and administration. In addition, the external program delivers a loading dock for improved materials handling, dedicated outdoor work area, and tiered seating with outlook to McCabe Oval for spectating and outdoor learning opportunities.
Construction is commenced in early 2025.
