Corpus Christi College, Maroubra – Stage 3 Resource Centre and GLA Building

Champagnat Catholic College is a 5-stream Boys School in an area of Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, which is experiencing steady population growth. The school’s enrolments significantly exceeded the available teaching space when the project commenced, requiring careful planning around staging and provision of temporary teaching space to minimise the impact of development on the operation of the school.

With a view to the future, the Stage 3 project aims to not only address the current deficit in teaching space, but to increase the effectiveness of the school’s learning facilities, providing modern and flexible spaces which facilitate a collaborative learning environment and provide areas for both individual and team-based work. This program also provided the opportunity to reconfigure some of the school’s existing spaces to rationalise their planning, reconnecting their resources of several faculties and allowing a higher level of interaction and collaboration.

The Stage 3 project has expanded and enhanced the facilities at Champagnat Catholic College. These spaces will maximise the opportunity for flexible and collaborative learning, while addressing the significant deficit in the school’s current facilities, allowing continued growth to serve the rising population.
