Broughton Anglican College, Menangle Park – Seniors Courtyard Landscaping

The senior’s courtyard redevelopment project proposes transformation of a tired paved traditional quadrangle to provide senior school students with an open, interconnected, green and multipurpose space.

The concept proposal, whilst interconnected, provides a number of space typologies enabling staff and students to utilise different parts of the courtyard for different learning, active play or social engagement purposes. The demolition of a classroom block and provision of openings in perimeter classroom blocks create links to other under-utilised spaces and destinations. The design seeks to maintain and work with existing ground levels to maintain accessible paths of travel, overland flow drainage requirements and cost-effective construction. The proposed space is softened through raised seating planters and new trees which create a green link and frame the visual connection back to the heart of the school.

OHD look forward to developing the design and assisting Broughton Anglican College and Campbelltown Anglican Schools Council to deliver this fantastic intervention to the senior school.
