The Boat Harbour Residence is a new two storey, 400 square metre home in Port Stephens. It sits on an exposed coastal site only 100 metres from the surf. The home is designed to make the most of the panoramic views that stretch from the northeast through to the south and west.
The design uses concrete, brickwork, fibre cement sheet and powder coated aluminium because these materials perform well in a marine environment. The engineering approach aims to minimise the use of concrete and structural steel to help reduce the building’s carbon footprint. This works hand in hand with solar power, high performing insulation, passive ventilation and thoughtful sun protection to help conserve energy and water.
The landscape design provides privacy from the street while also creating generous opportunities for soft landscaping throughout the property.
